    Life

Tuesday, June 3, 2008, 07:08 PM EST [General]

Ok, so the hubby and I did it, we bought a house.  We closed on April 25th.  I absolutly love our house.  I posted pictures of it in my last blog (Which was in March).  It is prefect.  And we have a wonderful yard.  We have a quarter of an acre in the city!!!  It is backed up to a wooded lot so it looks like we are out of the city.  We have all sorts of little animals in the yard, which my dog, Chloe, loves to chase.  And a blessing that I found after we moved in, most of the flower beds that they had planted are actually herb gardens!!!!  When we were looking at the house you couldn't see anything that was planted, but I've got a ton of herbs!!!!  I think its yet another sign it was meant to be for us to have this house.  We have been very blessed.

And my neice Bailey, her adoption went through on April 1st.  We are so relieved!

Not a whole lot else is happening, we have just been busy working on the house and enjoying having our own place.

    Blessings to all!!!

    Buying a house

Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 06:12 PM EST [General]

Well, the hubby and I are buying a house.  Its an adorable house in a great neighborhood.  Here are some pictures.

This is the front of the house

This is the living room, or as my hubby calls it, the "sitting room"

The dinning Room.  Its little, but it works!

    The kitchen, lots of cupboards.

This is one of the bedrooms

The color of the walls in the bathroom are really bright.  The picture doesn't show how bright, but its really pretty

The basement is partially finished.  This is the huge den down there.

This is the backyard.  It is almost 1/4 of an acre, which is really big for a house in the city!

We are really excited.  Its our first house.  Everything has lined up so well, the Goddess is sprinkling us with home and family blessings.

    Blabber

Thursday, January 17, 2008, 06:44 PM EST [General]

Let me start this blog off by saying Rest in Peace Brad Renfro. It saddens me that a young man, less than a year younger than me, has passed on. It is well known that he struggled with addiction since childhood. I am still sad about this. I watched his movies growing up and its sad that another child star from my childhood has passed on. May the Lord and Lady keep you safe and guide you on this next turn of the spiral.

Ok, so I joined the gym here at work about two months ago. I've been going and I've lost like 5 1/2 pounds and a little over 4 inches off of my waist. That makes me happy. The gym here is so awesome. Truly a gift from the Lord and Lady. Its great because it is right here. I just walk my jiggly butt down the stairs and voila, I'm there! They offer so many classes. I go to yoga 4 days a week. I love having that time for grounding and centering. They are always doing programs and stuff to help people lose weight. They are starting a program called Jump Start. We could join individually or on a team. I'm on a team with three of my co-workers. It was $18, but I get these "Health Checks". It is a check book size book that the top part is a handy guide of the calories and fats and other stuff in food. Its got Mc D's and Burger King as well as all sorts of food you would prepare on your own. Then the bottom part is for you to keep track of everything you eat, how many servings of fruits, veggies, meats, etc, how much exercise you do and your stress levels. We start on Monday keeping track of what we eat. We are to use our teams to help make us accountable for what we eat. If we eat more one day, then we need to do more exercise. That kind of thing. The goal is for us to either cut back 500 calories in our diets or burn 500 calories in exercise a day. That would be 1 pound a week we can lose. I'm kind of nervous about it because I have terrible eating habits. Give me carbs carbs carbs and more carbs! Each meal should be meat, potatoes and bread. Now, I love veggies, but I like them cooked because they sometimes hurt my teeth (I've got soft teeth) and unfortunately they lose alot of their good stuff in being cooked. And I love the taste of fruit, but I can't stand the texture. I'm terrible about that, if it feels funny, I won't eat it. So I'm trying to find a way to include more fruit and veggies in my diet and less of the unhealthy stuff. So this morning I pull out my apple grape juice and see that it says "2 FULL SERVINGS OF FRUIT IN EAT 8 OZ GLASS!" So I'm excited about that. Two glasses a day and I've got enough fruit! Then today I see on yahoo an article about how you have to be careful getting your fruit by way of juice because it isn't filling and blah blah blah. Well I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't! LOL Any suggestions for me to get my fruit? The main thing I don't like about fruit is the pulpy texture it has. I love apples and strawberries and raspberries, but that is it. LOL

Ok, well enough blabber from me!

    Brightest Blessings!

    Special kind of day

Monday, January 14, 2008, 07:11 PM EST [General]

I'm feeling a special connection with my God and Goddess today. I'm listening to Gaia's Consort while I'm chugging through my day. The song "Old Ones" has stirred something. I guess it has been there slowly growing brighter and stronger but today, it is almost a bonfire inside of me. I want to run barefoot outside, sleep under a tree, feel the grass caress my skin, Earth's energy flowing into me. However, if you live in Central Ohio, you'll see why its not a good idea to do the above today. Its snowing and cold. But the snow itself is so amazing. Feeling it on my skin this morning while I walked into work made me want to cry. Feeling intense emotions from their little icy sculptures. It was not a feeling of sadness, no, these were tears of bliss. The energy those little flakes carried this morning was more than enough to make me stop in my tracks, close my eyes, and really feel them. I've never experienced something like it.

I'm off to yoga tonight, I'm hoping for some centering. There were some happenings this weekend that kind of took a weight off of my shoulders but I'm feeling a bit off kilter still. I had managed to find enough balance with that weight to keep myself from crashing to the ground, barely, and now that it isn't there, I need to figure out how to re-adjust my balance.
